While the majority of training done with True Life K9 takes places inside the homes of dogs owners just like you, I (Ryan) will often times incorporate “fields trip” lessons with clients in public places. One of the places I often meet clients at is the Farmers Market in Peachtree City. This is a fantastic place to working on training around high levels of distractions, and to also help expose under-socialized dogs to various kinds of stimulation.

With the farmer’s marketing having all kinds of dogs, smells, and people, you can be sure that dogs who struggle with pulling on the leash, jumping on people, barking, or even growling will certainly be put to the test. What’s great, though, is that clients of mine with dog’s like this are often surprised at how well their dogs do in an environment like this after putting some initial training. And, of course, safety and proper handling protocols are always my biggest priorities when out in public with dogs; especially with dogs that may have aggressive or reactive tendencies.
